Peter Bliss is a name familiar to recording artists, labels, music publishers, songwriters and television producers.  His songs and music have been heard on records and over the radio/TV airwaves of the world.

The day after graduating from high school, Peter signed his first song publishing deal with Buddah Music. Moving to Boston, he worked with folk artists like Reeve Little and Jonathan Edwards. His songs and vocals together with his guitar and keyboard ability led to the release of his self-titled debut album on United Artists Records.  He continued to record and tour with artists like Tom Chapin. 
The J. Geils Band behind him, lead singer Peter Wolf turned to Bliss to help create the 'top forty' hit I NEED YOU TONIGHT from his "LIGHTS OUT" debut solo album.
Working closely with record producer Richard Perry in 1985, Peter helped guide Barbra Streisand through her vocal performance of his song EMOTION, which became the title track of her album, with the song being released as a single, a dance 12", and a video co-starring the Who's Roger Daltrey.

The group NSYNC recorded a song for their "Home For Christmas" CD which has reached triple platinum status and will be released by Brazilian superstar XUXA on Sony Records in September 2009,
Peter 's song "Thick" was awarded "Best Rock Song" and "2nd Overall Best Song" in the 2000 USA Songwriting Contest. Peter received honorable mention and finalist awards in the Latin and Children's song categories in the 2003 USA Songwriting Contest. His song catalog is represented by MCA Music, Warner/Chappell, Rondor, Peer/Southern Organization, and his own CurlyMan/CurlyJams publishing companies.
Peter's  film work includes the movie RIZE about LA street dancing and the soundtrack to the film “Bloodlines” . Television work includes the intro theme for "The Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat" morning show originally seen on CBS and currently being shown around the world. Reality TV's "High School Reunion" MTV's "The Real Life" and ABC's "All My Children" feature his songs. Corporate work for clients like Concentric Communications and Ketchum Advertising include productions for Ortho McNeil, Allergan, Celgene, Merck, Schering-Plough, Lilly and Johnson and Johnson. 
A strong interest in the educational field finds him lending his talents to Children's Television Workshop's "SQUARE ONE TV" series, writing and producing songs for music videos by artists like the Judds and Bobby McFerrin.  "Side By Side" and "Word By Word" are companion music albums and songbooks written and produced for Pearson Books. Peter's also playing and singing on numerous artist projects including acoustic guitar on Jewel's reworked "HANDS" for her Christmas CD. 
Peter's love for the craft of songwriting led to his becoming the Professional Activities Coordinator for the Songwriters Hall Of Fame in 2007.  His newly established workshop and showcase programs have helped bring the vast talent of NYC songwriters and business professionals together.  Events like "Words About Music" featuring Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater (Spring Awakening) and a "Master Class w/ Lamont Dozier have not only entertained but enlightened.
Peter works from his Planet Studio located at 244 West 54th St, Suite 800A in New York City. The studio was designed and built by Frank Comentale whose other studio designs include the famous Hit Factory.  A comfortable control room with skyline views of New York combined with a floating "isolation" booth for recording of vocalists and instrumentalists makes it a perfect place for creativity.

The New York Songwriters Collective launched in September 2011 and continues to serve the songwriting community with workshops that bring together music industry pros with up and coming songwriters, member showcases at NYC's The Bitter End  and free "SongWorking" events. Extensive seminars featuring guest speakers on many topics integral to the songwriter happen regularly. The Collective's Member Showcases benefit music related and local organizations which have included WhyHunger, Autism Speaks, Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy Foundation, Alliance for Coney Island, NY Cares Coat Drive along with the special needs of our members. His educational outreach includes participation in Berklee School of Music events.  By request of so many Collective members -Peter established "Songwriter & Artist Career Consulting" to help focus and guide members on their musical path.

Peter works from his Planet Studio NYC  now located at 215 West 91st in New York City.  His studios have hosted such diverse artists as urban star J. Cole, Joan Osbourne, Paul Williams, Anne Hampton Calloway, Kristen Chenowith, producer Canei Finch, Fabulous, Memphis Bleek, violinist Joshua Bell, Senator Orrin Hatch (that's right -he's an avid songwriter!) and so many more.
